I swear I had photos of how the baby-ik and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary last October 17th... just that I had forgotten to save copies on my computer before I restored a previous back-up of my phone -- all recent files have been deleted. Careless me, I know! 

But just to make up for it, I wanted to show you guys this montage I made for the years I have been with the baby-ik. Most clips were from our travels. Looking back made us feel so nostalgic... and yes, the usual emotional Alyssa cried, and so did the baby-ik. I bought us a small can of dream cake. We munched on it while we watched this montage together. 

He, on the other hand, had apparently prepared a surprise as well. He told me he'd fallen asleep the night before when he was in fact awake pasting photos of our moments on a wall in our room. He also bought us a chocolate cake. 

We almost always think alike, especially on this ocassion, only I did mine as a montage... it had been a simple and memorable anniversary for us.

Keeping this short and simple.

I'm not generally a fan of korean cuisine. First time I ever had Korean food was when my workmates brought me to Chosun Chicken. Never knew why they raved for it that much, but after trying it out, I must say, it was, by far, one of the best tasting fried chicken I have ever had. Still couldn't beat Jollibee's fried chicken though, but still it was that tasty! 

One day, I found myself craving for Korean Samgyupsal, and that red hot tofu soup (I never knew what they call 'em). I specifically wanted to go to Pearl Meatshop and Restaurant because it's lowkey the only korean restaurant I know of and have been to after Chosun Chicken. 

But then, I remembered a former workmate who once raved about a Korean food place just near our place. It was so random, we just went for it to satisfy my cravings. We even almost got lost on the way, good thing my "Hangeul" (korean alphabet) skills still work a bit. 😉

The place wasn't how I was expecting it. Not like most korean Shabu-shabu places. Loved the lake, and the little center islet. I felt closer to nature, especially that they had little monkeys, parrots, and a frickin' Iguana!

I’ve been setting this blog aside for days now. I don’t know. I just couldn’t be bothered to blog about it just yet. I had also been busy with a few things, especially moving in a new place (just a room for rent though) to finally live independently, sadly though, away from my family.

Anyhow, enough with the blab.

Last October 20th, the baby-ik and I both had a our days off and we decided to have a mini late celebration for our anniversary. 

Going back… baby-ik wanted to try-out Burrow’s Unlimited Chiken Wings at the Parkmall. Perfect timing though, ‘cause I came across a Facebook post which also markets Unlimited Chicken Wings for 199 Php as with Burrow’s. However, this chiken wings place had more flavors compared to Burrows. Being the self-proclaimed foodies that we are, we were instantly lured to try it out. So, off to Fowl Mood Diner we went. It’s located just across Parkmall (details below). I like the name they chose for their food place! I feel like it’s meant for people with fowl food to lighten up their moods. Whatcha think?

Round 2

I couldn’t exactly remember the order of our order (wut? haha!) But we attempted to try all the 17 flavors they offer. Unfortunately, however, some flavors were already out of stock. We ordered just 1 cup of rice for each of us, and mostly muched on the chicken wings because damn! Mas sulit diba kasi mas mahal ang manok sa kanin! Hahaha!

We got out seriously, seriously full and bloated!

We went to try out Parkmall’s Horror Booth afterwards. This year, they went by the theme “The WareHouse” and had a really nice marketing strategy. Although, the booth itself didn’t really scare me. I was just laughing all throughout the walk inside.

I had fun though!

Palawan’s best: Noki Nocs Savory House is finally in Cebu. Of course, piglets as we are, we just didn’t want to miss out on the hype. So, as a day late mini celebration for our “monthsary", we decided to go ahead and finally try it out.

We’ve been eyeing their mouthwatering Boodle Feast since we knew about their launch here in Cebu, plus the photos on social media just make it so much more convincing. In the end, that’s what we settled for, and ordered a pitcher of iced tea which I found a bit pricey but with no regrets!

Boodle Feast - 299 Php

Their Boodle Feast is served with various finger foods as in Boodle Fights. It consists of Porkchop, Chicken Wings, Babyback Ribs, Pork Kinilaw, Grilled Talong, Salted Egg Salad, and Java rice. As an appetizier, they gave us a small bowl of fish crackers which we gladly munched on while waiting for our order.

Boodle Fight is a military style of eating where long tables are prepared and food are served in banana leaves. Viands and rice ready to eat using your bare hands, jugs of water are prepared on the side to wash hands before the "eating combat". With the signal to start the boodle fight, everyone aims for his/her position.           -- Urban Dictionary

Just FYI, the Boodle Feast is said to be good for 2-3 pax and there were just 2 of us. But, we managed to devour it all in in less than 30 minutes. We even ordered 2 more extra java rice. We savoured every bits and pieces of what was left when we ran out of rice, HAHA! The 299 Php we paid for was all worth it.

The only downside during our visit was that the Porkchop wasn't that tender. I munched on everything except the Porkchop. I didn't really want to negatively review them right away though as business as it is, it might just be a bad day for them. Overall, we loved the food, apparently. We really wanted to try out their Palabok and Special Halo-Halo as well, but we were too full then. We’ll definitely try that out next time!

Noki Nocs Savory House - Cebu Branch

What could be more perfect than a calming dusk by the beach while watching the sun set with the love of your life?

It was a long tiring day after our Mantayupan Falls adventure. The quick rest by the Molave Milk Station didn’t really seem to kick in. We lowkey just ran out of energy and were starving as hell! Seriously, all we ever wanted to do was eat and head to bed. 

When we were nearing the city, I took my phone out and tried to look for the nearest food place I could find. And then I remembered one of my friend's Facebook post about a Food stop by the Naga Baywalk. I immediately browsed through her photos (Hi Jessa! Hehe) and found it! Haaaaaa~

We immediately headed to the place to satisfy our grumbling tummies. There, we found out that the place isn’t just a mere food stop. It’s a Baywalk Food Arcade by the beach! Interesting!

There were a lot of food stalls, with various meals and dishes to offer. There were vendors who sold balloons, toys, and random whatnots around the area. We even bought chocolates from a foreigner who peddled around. Kids were running and playing and laughing. A few were jogging. And of course, most were couples enjoying each other’s company.

I enjoyed the beach waves more than anything though. We spent a couple more minutes sitting by the beach, watching the skies change colors to a darker hue before we decided to munch on some barbecues. The scenery at night was a fantastic view as well! Although I didn't bother to take any photos anymore. I was just tired and hungry, that's all.

I initially wanted to eat Tuslob Buwa, but the baby-ik was persistent on having to try out their BBQ so I gladly obliged. It was indeed another stopover really worth it. The food was really good and affordable! We spent roughly around 200 Php for dinner. 

Upon arriving home, we were dead tired and immediately got knocked out. Haha! We definitely felt at peace with nature this day.
